DONT EAT OATS

THIS INCLUDES OATMEAL

The oats will make the fat stick to you

You won’t gain weight

HOWEVER IT WILL MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO LOSE WEIGHT

My mom did a weight loss program and she said that if a girl was getting too thin, they would give her oats so she couldn’t lose anymore weight

PLEASE SHARE THIS

I keep seeing this post floating around, and I honestly feel a need to comment: this is one of the big problems with pro ana. You have a fear food, and now you’re trying to spread this fear and misinformation to other people. There is NO “magic food” that will cause weight to just “stick” to you. That’s not possible. There are a lot of young and seriously ill people in this community who could be freaking out reading this post because you just ruined one of the foods they’ll actually eat. And guess what? That food happens to be a filling, nutricious, healthy option! Please, for the love of god, do NOT believe things you read like this before fact checking them.

On that note, please do not make a post about one of your fear foods and say something like “please share this” because you WILL trigger other people. Honestly, yeah, that includes those posts about not eating pizza/fries/cake/whatever. Guys, it’s never okay to encourage someone else’s illness, even if you have the same one. It’s one thing to help motivate a friend to lose weight, but it’s a completely different and damaging thing to fuel someone’s ED by encouraging them to have fear foods like this.

I reblogged the original post a few days ago cuz i was freaking out too :/

Just kind of popping in to say, as someone who has studied this stuff in a school for years, this is not true. Not at all. Not in the slightest.

Oats are one of the carbohydrates that are complex and therefor, although high in calories, good for your body and weightless because it gives you more energy whilst your body is trying to break it down.

There is no food that will make weight stick to you as @thinspoasf already mentioned very well. It’s all about calories in weightloss, and by telling others to spread this you are not only spreading horribly wrong misinformation, but also causing a lot of harm.

So…I am very disappointed in you op. And I hope that you understood your mistake, learned from it and don’t repeat it. And to everyone who believed this, don’t worry it’s not true and completely fine to enjoy a bowl of oatmeal ♡

Oatmeal is good as fuck and you ALL KNOW You Need That Good Fiber. People with eating disorders are at higher risk for heart disease, and oatmeal is a dope heart-healthy carbohydrate that starts your day off good as HELL.

While having a fear food is valid, it’s not necessary to hype it up as a bad food in the community. Personally, oatmeal is one of my safe foods, regardless of how heavy it feels to me, because I know it has properties that give me life.

Seeing the original post triggered a mental note in my head to throw away the oatmeal in my cupboard. You don’t know what could trigger a new behavior in someone. I love new tips. I love hearing about foods I shouldn’t eat. But that’s because I’m SICK. And it’s important to recognize that we restrict ENTIRE FOOD GROUPS from our diets because of things like Atkins.

Don’t put your fear foods on blast. Instead, put your SAFE foods on blast? Foods you enjoy, feel lite, whatever your tea is.

I’m sick of cutting foods out bro. I’m hungry. Want some OATMEAL

Before i read the full post i almost cried bc one of my favorite foods is overnight oats 😧

oats with nut butter and fruit are 100% my safe food lol even though it’s a high calorie breakfast it helps balance out my meds and keeps me full for a very long time not to mention it helps my ed-fucked up digestive system and provides iron. oatmeal is the fucking best

I once ate oatmeal for a month and lost ALOT so nah I won’t fear oatmeal. Gimme the oats.

Oatmeal is one of the only safe foods i have that’s offered at my work . it keeps me full af while Im burning calories. Not really that high cal when im on my feet and running around for 8 hours . its a lifesaver if youre an adult with an ed tbh.

This is SO important so STOP trying to scroll past it if you’re anorexic and just READ. IT.
