Shout out to those of you who have a sibling who would throw you under a bus.
Shout out to those of you who have a sibling who views you as a rival for resources, not as family.
Shout out to those of you who know the difference between ‘normal’ sibling rivalry and lifelong sibling disdain.
Shout out to those of you who have a sibling who abuses and discriminates against you.
Shout out to those of you who have a sibling who has a passive-aggressive pattern of breaking/losing your belongings or makes your friends feel unwelcomed/unsafe around you.
Shout out to those of you who have a sibling who frequently does things to endear themselves to the rest of the family like volunteer to make food for everyone when you’re not there. If you’re there, they won’t do anything voluntarily. In that way, they subtly teach the rest of the family that it is ‘your fault’ and make you being there a problem.
Shout out to those of you who have a sibling threatens, endangers, or harms your pet or other siblings in order to ‘get back at’ you.
Shout out to those of you who have a sibling who manipulates their friends into being mean to you or becomes friends with the people who bully you.
Shout out to those of you who have a sibling who ‘allows’ you peace in your home when they are purposefully ignoring you.
Shout out to those of you who keep running into people who believe having a sibling means that your sibling would help you. No, seriously, your sibling is not going to help you carry boxes, go with you as moral support, or loan you money for a snack because you missed lunch.
Shout out to those of you who have a sibling where it is a rare event to see them not angry towards you.
Shout out to those of you who have family that claims it is just ‘normal’ sibling rivalry. It’s not.
Shout out to those of you who have to pretend it doesn’t matter. It matters.
Why can I relate to many of these?
